Residents in older and affordable homes often face high energy bills due to expensive, outdated heating systems while also struggling with inadequate cooling and drafts. Sustain Our Future Foundation (SOFF) has secured a grant from the Maryland Energy Administration’s Energy Efficiency Equity Program to offer no-cost energy upgrades to low or moderate income Maryland homeowners.

Will I have to pay anything?

No! This program is fully funded. If you qualify, everything is covered.

What documents are required to apply?

✔️ Recent pay stubs (within the last two months).

✔️ An employment verification letter stating salary.

✔️ A recent utility bill (within the last three months).

✔️ Proof of participation in a state-funded moderate-income program (if applicable).

How long does the process take?

The initial application takes less than 5 minutes. If you qualify, we’ll schedule your free home energy audit, and upgrades can be completed in weeks.

What happens after I apply?

✔️ SOFF verifies eligibility and issues notifies applicants whether they are eligible.

✔️ Lumeco Energy conducts a pre-inspection to check for health, safety, and electrification readiness.

✔️ Homes must meet weatherization and electrical upgrade requirements.

✔️ If the home has prior state-funded upgrades, it may not qualify.

What happens if I don’t qualify?

We’ll connect you with other resources to help make your home more energy-efficient.

Sustain Our Future Foundation (SOFF) in collaboration with Lumeco Energy, is offering no-cost whole-home electrification and weatherization services to 133 households in Baltimore and the surrounding area to reduce energy costs and enhance the health, comfort, and resilience of these households.

Eligible households will be fitted with high-efficiency electric heat pumps and comprehensive weatherization including insulation and sealing drafts.
